Jazz solo tenor sax in ensembles and big bands

He began studying saxophone at the age of 13 at the Istituto Civico Musicale in Turin, then he continued his journey towards jazz with maestro Fulvio Albano, deepening style and language at the specialisation school Turin Jazz Centre.

He attended the courses:

  • HARMONICA with maestro Gianni Negro
  • ORCHESTRATION AND ARRANGEMENT: with the master Palmino Pia
  • OVERALL MUSIC AND ORCHESTRA with the master Pino Russo and Diego Borotti.

Among the musical experiences he played in many jazz formations in which there is also the Lein Jazz Quintet (1990) with the vocalist Simona Palumbo, with whom still today he played on 2020 recording the album Latin Land (2021, Egea Music).

In jazz field he collaborated with the Big Band of maestro F.Albano (Due Laghi Jazz), the Jazz Studio Orchestra, lead by the great drummer Carlo Sola and finally with the Easy Big Band of maestro Manassi.

Among the recordings we remember the collaboration with M.Negrin (Tre Storie, 2007) up to his last work of which he is the leader in the Quintet Repetition, 2017.

He currently collaborates with several bands as a tenor saxophone jazz soloist and with the singer, composer Simona Palumbo in her Latin jazz and ethno Latin formations both live and studio. He recorded some tracks in the Simona’s album “Latin Land” (2021, Egea Music, Fraghola Entertainment).
