Manu Mara
Installation designer and creator of unique jewels in fused Murano glass and precious metals

Manuela Maria Marazzani was born in Turin in 1963. In adolescence, she moved with her family to Zambia for a few years: this experience leaves a deep trace in her eyes and in her mind. The journey, experienced as knowledge and openness to new concepts and cultures, becomes preponderant: she stays in India, Thailand, Brazil.
Then she, who has always been passionate and naturally inclined to artistic expression, approaches glass, attending courses but above all she begins a research on the use of this material chosen as her source of inspiration. Experimentation is incessant and a source of enthusiasm.

In Turin, her hometown and her beloved one, she opens her atelier which gives her great satisfaction. But the call of Nature is strong and she recently moved to the countryside where she has her artistic workshop. She signs her creations with the pseudonym Manu Mara. She uses glass fusing with which she creates small and large sculptures with unlikely color combinations or extreme transparencies. She creates essential and angular or soft and sinuous shapes. The jewelry frames are in silver, gold, bronze, brass. Fundamental is the fact that each object you create is a unique piece. Her creations express herself, her evolutions and facets.

Each piece is precious thanks to the care, originality and uniqueness as well as the use of glass combined with her precious metals. Her works are a hymn to Nature and emotions, they are aimed at original, refined, ironic people. In his artistic career there are many solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad (Anna Osemont gallery, Belgioioso Castle, Museum of Natural Sciences – Pinerolo, Palazzo Saluzzo Paesana – Turin, Amuse – Torno, Internocortile- Turin, Por amor à art, Portugal, Galleria Porta Palatina – Turin, Ossigeno Studio – Turin, Terre Rare – Bologna etc. Fashion shows, (Walter Dang, Alberto Lusona, Alphorria – Brazil) collaborations with architects, (Cristina Mello Grosso, Cristina De Ambrosis), textile companies (Mantero – Como), selected shops (Allevolte – Pantelleria, Atelier Maria Teresa Grilli – Alassio, Creativity – Turin, Baricole – Turin) participation in fairs.
She graduated as an operator of artistic and polychrome stained glass and artisan excellence. She is selected among the winners in the international competition on glass jewels organized by Trieste Contemporanea. and Wedding Art Jewels at Palazzo Bovara – Milan organized by the Rossini gallery. On Rai 3 for the Masterpiece broadcast, the presence of her jewels is requested for the writer Tayle Selasi, for all episodes. They write magazines and newspapers about her (La repubblica, La
Stampa, Libero, Panorama, Glamor, Elle, to name a few), many of her works are part of private collections.
